The City of Denver Office of Climate Action, Sustainability and Resiliency recently awarded Extreme Community Makeover with a grant to sponsor the Work Days on July 16, 21 and 30. These funds supported the purchase of dumpsters, replacing tools, buying gas for the trucks, and getting food for the volunteers.
CASR is Denver’s Office of Climate Action. They have the goal of eliminating pollution and waste and investing in clean energy and resiliency. Like ECM, CASR has the goal of protecting communities current and future. Denver is already experiencing the consequences of climate change through extreme heat, drought, flooding, and worsening air quality. Action is more important than ever. By directly supporting Extreme Community Makeover and other city nonprofits, CASR is putting tools in the hands of leaders in the Denver community.
