It's a Feel Good Kinda Thing
Extreme Community Makeover is excited to announce we have our new Program Manager for Extreme Yard Care. Our new social enterprise business is in good hands. Gary E. Apel has experience owning a lawn care maintenance company, working for the City and County of Denver. Gary also brings 20 years of experience as a teacher, with Denver Public Schools, and he has knowledge of real estate development."What excites me most about heading up Extreme Yard Care is, it's a new business and it's going to bring a challenge. I love that we'll be helping people who live in the eight neighborhoods ECM currently serves. We'll be able to employ them and give them a positive job experience. It's a feel good kinda thing," says Gary.Gary feels grateful to be a part of something that will improve communities and help people who normally wouldn't be able to get things done. He hopes the lawn care service will also help to change the resident's perspective about their community. "We hope to change how people perceive their properties. By improving their lawn and garden, we can add beauty to their life. This will then change how they feel about their home and neighborhood. We will do this one house at a time," explains Gary. It's Gary's main goal to have a great reputation with Extreme Yard Care. He understands that starting out small is okay. Small things can grow into big things if the right stewardship is in place. Delivering a quality product is the first priority, as well has having a heart of service. "I want to model good behavior for the workers and for the people we are serving," he admonishes. Gary is looking forward to training the workers and teaching them how to have a good work ethic.ECM can't think of a better person to run Extreme Yard Care. Gary has a heart to serve, as well has having experience as a business owner and teacher. We want to welcome Gary E. Apel on the team! Gary is just the leader we need to spearhead this venture. Extreme Yard Care is an investment into the communities we love and serve. You too can invest and support this cause.
