Meet Steph - Program & Volunteer Coordinator
Steph Dixon is excited to be joining the Extreme Community Makeover (ECM) team as the Program & Volunteer Coordinator! She brings years of experience in nonprofit work, volunteer coordination, community engagement, events, marketing, and relationship building.
We asked Steph a few questions during her first month…
How did you hear about Extreme Community Makeover?
I first became familiar with ECM through my connections in the Denver nonprofit community. After years of working with volunteers, churches, and community organizations, ECM felt like a natural fit.
What piqued your interest in the position?
I love working with people, building relationships, and making things happen. ECM brings all of those things together. I was especially drawn to ECM’s approach of working alongside residents to make a tangible difference in their neighborhoods.
What’s been the biggest surprise during your first month?
How much happens behind the scenes! From coordinating volunteers and projects to supplies, communication, and logistics, I’ve gained a whole new appreciation for everything it takes to make a Work Day happen.
I’ve also been surprised by how welcoming the ECM community has been. Everyone has been so encouraging and willing to help, and I’m learning something new every day.
What are you most excited about?
I’m excited to get to know the neighborhoods we serve, the residents, and all of the incredible volunteers who make this work possible. There’s something really special about seeing people who may not know each other show up, work side by side, and accomplish something together.
I’m so excited to be part of the ECM team and see where this journey takes me!

What’s something interesting to know about you?
I’m a Colorado native and have always had a heart for volunteering and community service. I’m also a former boutique owner, so I love the creative side of marketing, social media, events, and storytelling.
When I’m not working, you’ll probably find me spending time with my family, my two doodles, Lucky and Clover, or working on my next creative project.
