One of the dear people I have had a chance to meet through Extreme Community Makeover is Erlinda. Erlinda has lived in the Barnum neighborhood for over 60 years. We first connected in 2012 during an ECM Work Day with God's Grace Community Church. We stayed in touch over the years and she contacted me again a few months ago. After having a major surgery, she had some projects that needed to be completed before the winter and she wasn't able to get to them on her own. We showed up during one of the final ECM Work Days of 2019 with Team Newell of Pinnacle Real Estate. We were able to put Erlinda at ease because she knew she had someone to rely on to help take care of those tasks. But more importantly, she knew she had people that cared about her. And that's the importance of Extreme Community Makeover - bringing people together and building relationships.
