LeafDrop 2019: Drop Off Your Leaves for FREE at a LeafDrop Site Near You This Fall

LeafDrop.png

WEEKEND SITES ARE NOW OPEN

Did you know? Organic materials such as leaves, branches, grass clippings, and food scraps make up almost 50% of what Denver residents send to the landfill each year. Make sure your fall leaves get composted instead of trashed by participating in LeafDrop! All leaves brought to LeafDrop locations or placed in your green Denver Composts carts are composted and turned into Denver’s Own EcoGro™ Compost that can be used to improve Denver’s soil.

WE PREFER LEAVES IN PAPER BAGS BECAUSE THEY’RE
COMPOSTABLE TOO!
Denver Recycles, Be A Smart Ash, and Ace Hardware stores are teaming
up to give away FREE 5-packs of 30-gallon paper leaf bags to help Denver residents streamline the LeafDrop process! Unlike plastic bags, brown
paper bags can be composted along with the leaves, which makes the
LeafDrop program more efficient, saves time, and significantly reduces
plastic waste.

Keep in mind, all leaves placed in your trash cart or set out for Extra
Trash Collection (ETC) are sent straight to the landfill and are not
composted.

Fortunately, composting your fall leaves the right way is as easy as 1-2-3: Display a leaf bag coupon at your local Ace Hardware Store to get a FREE 5-pack of paper leaf bags.  Fill the paper bags with your leaves.Drop off your paper leaf bags at a LeafDrop site near you.
