Elevate Your Company Volunteerism

Ardent Mills had their Elevate Quality Leader Conference in Denver recently. Every year, they host a leadership conference and choose a different state. They also choose a volunteer activity to serve under. This year, they chose Extreme Community Makeover for their leadership team to volunteer for."Every year we have a service week at every mill within the company of Ardent Mills. Each facility hosts a volunteer day for their employees in their community.  When we come here for the Quality Leader Conference, we also want to do the same thing in that city," explains Jody. Ardent Mills has created a culture of volunteerism within their company. It's an important aspect of who they are as an organization."Our core values help us bring our vision to life every day, enabling us to make a positive impact on our customers, communities, team members and partners," expresses the Ardent Mills website under their company values. They value elevating their employees to do greater things!"It drives us to actually go back to our own cities and do the same type of community service. We can get our neighbors all together and cleanup the neighborhoods in our cities." Jody adds, "volunteering builds brotherhood and sisterhood.""I grew up in a family that believed that volunteering is a part of who we are. We have to give back to the community. It's an external output of who you are inside. I love the idea of giving back to the community," passionately explains Alyce. They picked ECM because we were able to accommodate a large group. Alyce also loved the idea of getting the leaders outside to physically help the community."We go to the food banks and do those kind of things, but actually working in the neighborhood where the people are supporting us, is very important," exclaims Alyce."We love to win, and it is now a competition. We are going to win today in this community," says Alyce.
