Denver Neighborhood Eats

DenverRestaurants-.png

No doubt, Denver has a lot to offer when looking for a place to eat. Denver neighborhoods are thriving and opening up new restaurants, it seems, daily. Extreme Community Makeover focuses on serving eight Denver neighborhoods: Barnum, Elyria, Globeville, La Alma/Lincoln Park, Swansea, Villa Park, West Colfax, and Westwood. We love these neighborhoods and we've gotten to know them pretty well. Here is our list of favorite eateries, out of these eight Denver neighborhoods.

Westwood

Kahlo's

Kahlo's serves traditional Mexican food. Kahlo's also offers a full vegetarian menu and it's vegan friendly! It's located at 3735 Morrison RD Denver, CO, 80219.

Barnum

Grandpa's Burger Haven

If you are looking for an old school burger joint, Grandpa’s Burger Haven is your place. "Grandpa's Burger Haven is a hole-in-the-wall in the truest sense, a spot where you shout your order through an actual hole in the wall," writes the Westword. There are no waiters and tables, but their burgers are great and you get a taste from the past. Grandpa's is a true Denver treasure. It's located at 23 S. Federal Blvd. Denver, CO 80219.

Swansea

Comal Heritage Food Incubator

Comal is social enterprise, started through Focus Points. It's a hot food grab-and-go storefront, in addition to being an education center that serves micro-entrepreneurs of GES and surrounding neighborhoods. Comal located in the TAXI development, offers Globeville, Elyria and Swansea residents an opportunity to gain real time restaurant operation and catering skills. In fact, Comal just catered dinner for ECM’s 10 year anniversary celebration last week and served delicious salad, chicken and veggie fajitas, rice, and beans. It's located at 3455 Ringsby Court #105, Denver, CO.

Denver, Colorado

Globeville

Fort Greene

Fort Greene is know as Denver's hidden gem. It serves American classics and cocktails. It has a fun, chic atmosphere that'll take your senses back into another era. It's located at 321 E 45th Ave Denver, CO 80216.

La Alma/Lincoln Park

El Noa Noa

Are you looking for a live mariachi band to listen to while enjoying fine Mexican food? If so, El Noa Noa is your place! It's known as Denver's best and most authentic Mexican restaurant. The Restaurant was founded in May of 1980 and over the years it has expanded to the space that people really get to enjoy. They truly make patrons feel like family. It's located at 722 Sante Fe Drive, Denver, CO, 80204.

Well, there you have it! This is ECM's list some of our favorite restaurants in our favorite neighborhoods. We know it can be easy to get into the habit of stopping by the same old eatery. However, it's time to add a little adventure to your palate and check out something new. So, next time you are out and about in Denver, make sure to check out one of these Denver treasures. And, remember, when you support these restaurants, you are supporting these Denver neighborhoods.
