The Colfax Marathon is coming up on May 18-19 and Extreme Community Makeover has four relay teams participating in the race! The Colfax Marathon gives runners the opportunity to choose a nonprofit to run for and ECM is honored to have teams comprised of volunteers from ECM, the Denver Chamber of Commerce, Haselden Construction, and RedPeak run on our behalf. Here are the companies and individuals that are running:

Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce

We want to thank Laurie Troge, with The Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce, for running in the marathon! "We have been proud to be a part of this community for more than 150 years. We take time as a team to give back because we want Colorado to always be the best place to live and do business. We work to find nonprofits that are doing great work in the region and find ways our team can donate time to that organization," explains Leah Parsons, Human Resources Director for the Chamber. Laurie and her coworkers got to volunteer with ECM on a Saturday Work Day in the Westwood neighborhood, earlier this month. They really enjoyed their experience. It provided a great chance for the team to spend time together and get to know each other better. "It’s nice to get your hands dirty for a great cause," says Laurie. "Our success depends on all three sectors – private, public and nonprofit – partnering and working together. Our nonprofits are critical to the success of our city and our state to ensure we continue to be a collaborative, inclusive and innovative community," states  Leah Parsons.

Haselden Construction

We want to thank Lauren Martinez, with Haselden Construction, for running in the marathon! "As a company, we want to be very intentional about giving back to the communities in which we live and work, and as such, we support Extreme Community Makeover as one way to bring both our team members and their families all together in one day to make an extreme impact," states the company. Each employee considers themselves one family and having a culture of giving back is important to each and every one of them. "We feel it brings us closer together as an organization to support local nonprofits. It’s in our DNA to want to help others, not only through what we do in our daily work, but through helping those who are either having tough times, or by just bringing a smile to someone’s face," explains the company.

RedPeak

We want to thank Alan Eathorne, with RedPeak, for running in the marathon! "RedPeak is a proud supporter of Extreme Community Makeover. Running the relay marathon is a fun opportunity to get fit people together and support our local neighborhoods," states the company. As one of Denver’s only primary owner, developer, and apartment managers, the Denver community is the most important aspect of their business. Their buildings are a part of each community and they are committed to adding sustainable value to the city of Denver. "At RedPeak we energize communities, and bring people together. It’s what we do. At the end of the day, companies that stand for alternative values besides the common approach, draw much more out of their employees. It feels incredible to be part of a company that encourages community involvement and sustainability," the company explains.Get out and support our runners!
