Denver to Host Free Paint Recycling Collection Event on August 27th

It’s time to get rid of all of your stockpiled and leftover paint! Denver Recycles and PaintCare® are hosting a FREE paint recycling collection event on Saturday, August 27th. This event is open to all Colorado residents and small quantity business generators.

*Accepted items will include old latex & oil-based house paint and primers, stains, deck and concrete sealers, and clear finishes such as varnishes and shellacs.

This event will take place at South High School at 1700 E. Louisiana Ave. (parking lot just south of Washington Park at S. Franklin St. & Louisiana Ave.) from 8 AM to 3 PM on Saturday, August 27, 2016.

To prevent long wait times and traffic congestion, EVENT PARTICIPATION IS BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. To register to attend this event and select your appointment time slot visit https://aug27-paint.eventbrite.com. Event registration is free and there will be no recycling charges or fees to participate.

EVENT DROP-OFF REMINDERS:1.       All materials must be in original manufacturer containers with labels and a secured lids.2.       Arrive no more than 10 minutes before or 10 minutes after your scheduled appointment time slot.3.       Review the list below of accepted and not accepted paint for this event.4.       Do not drop paint off outside the event day or hours. Businesses that generate more than 220 pounds of material per month may bring any amount of latex paint, but they cannot bring oil-based paint to this event.Paint manufacturers created PaintCare®, a non-profit organization, to establish convenient places for you to recycle leftover paint. PaintCare® has drop-off sites are located throughout Colorado where you can take smaller amounts of paint all year long.
