Working Towards Building Up Industry and Community
On Thursday, June 2, Extreme Community Makeover organized an Industry Work Day geared towards people working in the real estate industry. Heritage Title Company, PorchLight Real Estate, and ValueCheck, Inc. were the organizations that signed up for the day."Too many of us get to wrapped up in our technology. Volunteering in our communities makes us more mindful of our surroundings and helps us to get back to the basics," explains Coey Howe a Sales Executive with Heritage Title Company. She's been volunteering with ECM for about four years now. Coey thankful that Heritage Title Company has a volunteer group. Research shows that volunteering with co-workers improves morale and helps employees to make deeper connections. "ECM always does a great job of organizing everything. In our very busy lives and work schedules, it's nice to know we can accomplish so much and all we have to do it show up," admits Coey.Connie Malonson, the Regional Vice-President of Heritage Title Company, thought the day volunteering went great as well. Her sales team made valuable connections with real estate agents and they enjoyed the conversations that took place while they worked. "The Industry Work Day is a good networking opportunity for people in our industry. The Work Day helps us to connect with each other professionally, but it also is beneficial because we all have a common goal to do good in our communities. It's good to do business with others you know have common goals and values," says Connie.Caroline Glidden, a Broker Associate at PorchLight Real Estate, was on Extreme Community Makeover's Board a couple years ago. So, she is very familiar with ECM. PorchLight Real Estate does a lot of charity work in the community and ECM is on of the organizations they volunteer for. "The Work Day brought us more together as a team. Some of us don't see each other in the office that much, even some co-workers have never talked to each other. So, this was a great opportunity to connect and get to know each other better," Caroline explains. They enjoyed talking with each other, meeting the homeowners and working alongside others in their industry. " The Real Estate Industry Work Day is very helpful because these are some of our busiest months. We don't have to follow-up with anyone or organize anything. We just show up," Caroline explains.Extreme Community Makeover is working towards building up communities and building up industries in Denver. We know the value of connecting with businesses in the community. When Denver businesses thrive, the communities around them thrive.
